Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her in honor of her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father was from a Jewish origin. Ryder has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. When Ryder was seven, her family relocated in Mendocino County California. They didn't have electricity. Television books were Ryder's only distraction to keep her busy and she became an avid reader. Ryder aged 12 was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. She landed her debut role on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 older. Ryder suffered from bullying in high school. Her performing career, she thought to help, could have helped her. It didn't take place. The actress pursued her dreams. The year 1988 saw her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played successful roles for several films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
